Supporting Your Parish
You have asked us how you can continue giving to your parish during the pandemic. Parishes and charities still greatly need your support, even more so without their weekly congregations and visitors.
We do though recognise that many parishioners may be struggling financially, and there is no expectation to give where you are unable to do so. Click on the link below
The situation continues to escalate and all are encouraged to keep up-to-date with the news and the latest Government guidelines. We pray for all affected by this disease.
During this challenging time we are providing regular updates on the Archdiocese website, together with our social media channels, to keep in touch with you and share important messages.
Please continue to visit the website and share information with those who cannot easily get online. It is vital we work together and look after each other.
Holy Week: Live Masses online
Holy Week will obviously be very different for us all this year.
Although you cannot attend Holy Week services in person you will be able to watch them online.
Archbishop Bernard Longley will be celebrating all principal ceremonies in St Chad's Cathedral, starting at 11am on Palm Sunday. If your parish does not offer live streaming then please join the services taking place at our diocesan Mother Church.
To complement live streaming, and help you on your faith journey at home, please make use of the resources available online.
We have compiled a huge list, from podcasts and videos to personal reflection and Children's Liturgy, for your #ChurchAtHome whilst you #StayAtHome.
Here's a selection:
Daily Homilies from Fr Julian Green, Our Lady of Grace parishes, in north Staffordshire. Fr Julian is now including questions for reflection at the end of his YouTube homilies for individuals and groups at home to think about/discuss.
Pause for Faith - Join Fr Stephen Wang each day as he live streams on YouTube. An informal conversation about living the Christian faith, with Catholic history and spirituality, the lives of the saints, Christian teaching, practical tips for everyday life, contemporary issues facing the Church and the world, some Q&A and interviews.
Children's Liturgy resources - A mum in Westminster Diocese creates a children’s liturgy video on Saturday evenings for use on Sunday.
Divine Renovation has produced a parish Response Kit to the current situation that we are all in. Download for free.
Holy Week Retreat for parishioners not online
A retreat you can print off and post to someone who is unable to access the web for themselves.
Easter Sunday Mass to be aired on all BBC local radio stations
Please tell all your friends and family who are not online!
On Easter Sunday (12 April) BBC radio will broadcast a Catholic service celebrated by Cardinal Vincent Nichols.
The service for Easter Sunday will be broadcast at 8am on the BBC’s 39 local radio stations.
In our area that includes BBC Oxford, Coventry and Warwickshire, Hereford and Worcester, Stoke, and WM.
The God Who Speaks - meditation and picture reflections
Our involvement in this national scripture campaign continues with a weekly invite to pray and reflect.
This Sunday is Palm Sunday, the start of Holy Week.
Please read the latest meditation and picture reflection of this weekend's Gospel by St Matthew.
The weekly meditation is by Fr Dries van den Akker SJ on the unique paintings of Catholic artist Peter Clare.

Prayers for the sick
Ministry of the Sick & Housebound
While the Parish tries to be vigilant, it is the sick or housebound person, or someone close, who should alert the Church and ask for care. The care comes in many ways. We pray for the sick and housebound every weekend. Parishioners will bring them Holy Communion and the Priest anoints them and brings them healing and absolution in the Sacrament of the Sick. However, to do this we must know that someone is sick or housebound.
If you have family, a friend or neighbour who requires this care then please, with their permission, complete the form on the attached leaflet and return to Father Michael Bonaccorsi
New to the Parish
